2020 Virtual Advent and Christmas

We continue to worship together virtually,
viewing our pre-recorded worship service on YouTube each Sunday morning at 10:45.

The services are usually 35-40 minutes long,

with scripture readings, several songs,

sermon and communion.

We encourage viewers to participate in

the Lord's Supper with whatever elements

they have at home.

During this season, we hope

viewers will join in lighting candles

in their Advent wreaths at home.

The theme of our Advent/Christmas season

comes from an anonymous Jewish poet who

scrawled these words on a wall during World War II:

I believe in the sun even when it is not shining.

I believe in love, even when I don't feel it.

I believe in God, even when God is silent.

Even during this pandemic,
when we are not worshipping in our sanctuary,
when we are not singing in the same location,
we can turn toward music in appreciation of its role

in the midst of difficult times.

We've been watching a series of documentaries

about the power of music to affect change

and offering a Zoom discussion

about each week's film.
